In December last year, we had a special performance in the Talent Shows. Before the show we had to practise in the hall every lunchtime when nobody was there. When I was practising, I was not nervous at all. On the day we gave the performance, we all stood on the choir stage, waiting for the classmates and audience. When everything was OK, the curtain gradually opened. I saw all the classmates and audience looking at us. I suddenly felt very shy and scared. I blushed because I had not gone on the stage and given a performance before. I was scared to draw the attention of so many people. So I forgot the last part of the song. This is my most impressive experience in school. I hope I can do better next time. |

At school, I have lots of fun and I always feel happy. There was an event that happened in the first school term which has made a great impression on me. In the first school term, I failed the first Mathematics test. I got only forty-seven marks. The reason for this failure was that I did not study hard enough. When I received the test paper, I was afraid and very worried about my parentsˇ¦ reactions to my test result. I thought they would be angry at me and would refuse to sign the test paper. So I asked my Maths teacher for help. My Maths teacher is a lady. She is kind with a sweet smile on her face. She told me a good girl must be honest. Her words lingered deep in my heart. When I got home, I honestly told my parents my test result. Although the teacher no longer teaches me, she helps me to study Maths. I am very grateful to her. |

We visited a hostel for the mentally retarded on Excursion Day. When we arrived at the hostel, the person who was in charge showed us around. We had been divided into groups a few days before our visit. We got into our groups and started playing games with the patients. At first, the patients were very shy and passive, but they became more active and friendly after watching a magic show. They were very warm towards us. It seemed that they really enjoyed it. After the magic show, we began to sing. While we sang, they clapped their hands in time to the music. Then, we gave presents and souvenirs to them. We finally took pictures together. Before I took part in this visit, I though that the mentally retarded were cold people and it was difficult to get along with them. However, this is not true. I found them to be very lovely and cute. |

On the 9th of November, our class lessons were moved to the Hong Kong Museum of History in Tsim Sha Tsui. It was our school educational activity Day. We had a really good time. With the help of the audio guide service and the exhibitions, we had to complete the 4 pages of worksheets specially tailored-made and designed by our teachers. We liked the Ethnographical and local History collections the most because there are so many special and interesting things to see. For example: Womenˇ¦s embroidered bound-foot boots and the porcelain pillows. We were busy but we enjoyed the tasks very much. This exhibition has enhanced our understanding of and interest in the history and heritage of Hong Kong. Let me tell you, History is not at all boring and indeed we learned a lot from the past and even thought that some ancient designs were more creative than those of todayˇ¦s. |

The 9th of November was our schoolˇ¦s educational activity day. I went to Mai Po with my classmates by coach. First we went to see different species of endangered birds, for example, kingfishers and house swallows. Some of them are very beautiful and others are very lovable. Next, we went to a pond. We saw many ducks swimming there. I felt very happy because I could see these birds, which I have never seen before. I hope people will protect these birds. If we keep killing them, they will definitely become extinct. |

On the 9th of November, my school arranged a special activity day. My class was assigned to go to the Kadoorie Farm in Tai Po. When we arrived there our class teacher gave us each a worksheet about the Kadoorie Farm. While we were walking along the road we heard different kinds of birds singing and saw butterflies dancing among the flowers. There were many tall and short plants on both sides of the road. I had never seen so many species in my life. It was very valuable to participate in these activities because we gained a lot from our visit to the farm. The farm impressed me because it was well managed and it also provided an ideal environment for us to learn something outside of school. |
